Stanza is a sweet, cuddly, playful, mischievous teenager who needs someone willing to give her the attention and care she deserves. Toss a spring, roll a ball or wave a wand - interactive play is her favorite thing! After a brief respite napping on a lap, she is back at play. She adores the large dog in her foster home and loves playing with the other cats in the house. Looking for more than one? She would pair well with sister Rhyme or friend Betty Boop.Stanza is on a restricted prescription diet to address her digestive needs and is currently doing very well on it. She does need someone able to financially commit to her care who is willing to work closely with her vet to ensure that she continues to thrive. Stanza was adopted previously as a young kitten but was surrendered back to us when her new family could not afford the emergency surgery needed to save her life. She developed a rare condition called intussusception (where a portion of the intestine telescoped in on itself) and needed emergency surgery to remove a large portion of her intestine. Surgery was successful and she appears to have made a full recovery. It has taken several months to return her digestive system to normal function and prescription food may be needed for the remainder of her life. She is a wonderful cat worth any effort to give her a long and healthy life.Stanza, along with her siblings Limerick, Rhyme and Haiku first came to us when they were turned into an animal control facility as very young kittens without a mom. Sonnet adopted them as she was at the same facility with no kittens of her own.
