MEET SPUNKY Spunky is a gentle, soulful boy. His foster mom was drawn to him because his shelter photo showed him wearing sunglasses! She knew he had to be a pretty agreeable fellow. Spunky was a favorite among shelter staff, and they found him to be a sweetheart. Not much is known about his past, but given his relaxed nature in his foster's home and his sociability, he very likely was someone's pet at some point. ‍ He likely was overlooked by people at the shelter due to his age. As with all cats, it can be challenging to determine age. The shelter put him at 13, but he may be younger — he certainly acts younger! Spunky does appear to have some arthritis in his back legs (don't we all?!), but it doesn't seem to impair him. He willingly and easily jumps up, even frequently looking up for high spots in the room, certainly seeming to be more of a "tree dweller" type of cat rather than a terrestrial one. He most likely would love having his very own cat tree and some perches he could climb up onto in his forever family's home. His body language is that of a submissive cat; he frequently presents his belly for scratches. Occasionally he can be found admiring his handsome self in the mirror. He accepts affection from his foster mom and has nuzzled her, but he also has an independent side and seems comfortable exploring on his own. In Jane Austen terms, this guy could best be described as affable. He'd love a forever home to call his own! Won't you open up your heart to him?
