Shayna the cat is named after Rev. Shayna Watson. Rev. Watson is a strong and kind leader and seems to have over come many adversities to get her where she is today. Shayna is also strong alpha female and was a good mother to her kittens. She is very food motivated, especially chicken and Churus. She likes to be pet for short periods and enjoys a game of string. She is good with dogs and other cats. She would probably do best in a home without small children as they would not give her the space she needs. She is well litter trained and always uses the litter box. Shayna requires an experienced cat owner to work with her socialization.Adoption processDuring review of the application if you rent your home, we confirm with your landlord that you are allowed to have the cat per your lease. We also consider if a particular cat is a good fit for your home. Certain cats will do better in homes without small children, or without other cats. Other cats may need to be adopted with a cat that they are bonded with. So we make sure that the cat and the home are a good match before completing an adoption. Some of our fosters allow trial adoptions, where you would have 2-3 weeks to make sure that the cat being adopted was accepted by the other pets in your home. If you are interested in this, please ask your Adoption Representative. All cats adopted from Stray Cat Blues have been screened for feline leukemia and FIV, inoculated, sterilized and wormed when they first come to us. Additional vet work is completed for those cats that require additional care. Healthy, adoptable cats and kittens are then housed through our network of foster homes until they are adopted. You are also welcome to come visit cats at our PetSmart Collegeville and PetSmart North Wales/Montgomeryville locations (see times for adoption showings).
