Upon first meeting her Majesty, you'll experience some of the chilliness that earned her the title, as she chooses to keep her distance and expect you to do no more than sit and wait for her to decide to grace you with an audience. As those of us who have called upon the Ice Queen many times throughout her stay with us can tell you, her frigidness melts when you can provide her with entertainment fit for a queen (playtime with her favorite wand toy), as well as the appropriate feast suitable for royalty (churu wet food treat sticks). The Sonoma Humane Society prides itself on successful adoption rates because of the time we spend with you and your prospective pet upfront. First you must decide what type of animal is "right" for you. Are you more of a dog or a cat person or are you interested in a smaller animal like a rabbit, guinea pig or pocket pet? You must have a clear understanding of yourself, your family and your lifestyle to answer this question correctly. Many people need several visits before they can make the decision to adopt and we encourage you to take all the time you need to make your new relationship permanent. Adoption Fees Our animals receive the highest quality of medical care, diets, training and socialization to become a permanent part of your home. Our adoption fees do not cover the expenses for each animal that enters our facility. Thanks to donations from the community, we are able to offer more than any other shelter in the County.
