Mello is here and keepin' it real and chill. He may be a big ol' fella but he can't help it. He thinks of himself as a fluffy teddy bear who can keep you feelin' safe at night! That's how he was like with his previous families. That's right; this sweet fella used to have a couple of families. To be fair, it was no fault of his own or his owners. You see his owners were getting older, and they had to move into an assisted living home. Unfortunately, no pets were allowed to move in with them, and with a heavy heart, the owners had to give Mello up to LCCR. Though he misses them greatly, Mello is hoping to find a permanent home with a loving family! It seems that with time Mello has also gotten older and developed his own health issues. He was diagnosed with hyperthyroid disease, which was heart breaking to say the least. However, there's a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. For you see, his condition is incredibly easy to manage! He just needs to take one pill in his food a day, and wouldn't you know that it's at a low cost! Mello is such an easy going guy that you wouldn't even realize how easy it is to manage! It might be a setback, but it honestly feels like a typical walk in the park and you'd never notice that he even has it! Okay, we talked your ear off (or read your eyes off?) with Mello's backstory and health concerns. What is he like? Well, there are two things that Mellow is passionate about, and that's wet food and people! For the most part, he's a chill guy, but the couple of times that he isn't "chill" is when catnip is involved! The other is playtime! He'll play with his toys on his own, but he loves to play pirate with them! He'll collect them under a bed or couch, like it's his trove, and horde them! When he's in a calmer mood, Mello will chat with you about his day, and he'll even listen to you talk about yours! You always know when he's content because the purr-scale will go off the charts! He's a simple guy with his only wish to be an only cat. He likes to keep things easy for you! He used to get all of the attention with his previous owners, and he's looking forward to grabbing yours! He'll rub against you and purr in the hopes of getting some lovin'! His head is a particularly favorite spot for people to scratch, but NOT the back! That's a tickle spot, and he would appreciate it if you didn't tickle him! This kitty would be the best friend you could ever have if you got a chance to meet him! And believe us when we say, Mello can't WAIT to meet you! Mello's adoption donation is $50 and includes age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment, Felv/FIV testing, microchip, and neuter.
