If you are looking for a sweet, young adult cat, Mame is your girl. Brought in from a rural shelter, she loves to play (with her absolute favorite wand toy), is an avid bird watcher, and will lay next to you for plenty of rubs and pets. Mame is Feline Leukemia positive (FeLV). FeLV is a cat-specific virus that compromises the cat’s immune system. It cannot be transmitted to humans; however, it can spread to other cats through grooming and sharing food & water bowls, so positive cats should live as an only cat or with other leukemia positive cats. Although there is no known cure, FeLV is far from a death sentence. FeLV cats can live happy lives for a long time, often without symptoms. Mame has lived with a medium-sized dog and with proper introduction, would likely do well with a calm, cat-friendly dog. Please consider giving this sweet girl a loving, forever home!
