KITTEN RARE RIPLEY Domestic Shorthair Young Male

Ripley is an independent, feisty little fella with the coolest fur patterns that seem to make him “Rare Ripley”. When he was around 6 weeks old, he collapsed in front of his rescuers on a very hot day due to being so malnourished, anemic from fleas, and dehydrated. The vet didn’t think he’d survive. Little did we know that Ripley is indeed “rare” and a little survivor!! Ripley was originally thought to be a female, so he was named after the heroine Ripley in the movie Alien. Since that character survived against incredible odds, we decided that it fit him perfectly. He was born feral, but it just took a couple days of lavish wet food meals and air conditioning to convince him that living indoors was actually much better. Ripley shows affection in his own way. He prefers to sidle up next to people and playfully reach out some tiny claws (normally when his foster mom doesn’t realize he’s even next to her—surprise, there’s Ripley!). He gets VERY excited when humans throw toys for him and dangle the fun cat-fishing toys with strings/jingle bells. He dislikes being chased to be cuddled, so younger kids might not be the best match. He will pretend to be too cool to hang out with humans—often preferring to rip-roar around the house with the other foster kittens—but he enjoys sleeping on blankets near his foster family. Sometimes loud noises will startle him, but he is not exactly a meek, frightened little guy—he can stand up for himself if the dogs get a bit too nosy. Ripley would do best with another young cat to wrestle with—he has a lot of energy and needs to play! He loves the other cats/kittens at his foster home and pretends that the dogs don’t exist, usually. He is a lucky little guy with a lot of love to give! He is 11 weeks and 3 pounds.
