Ivy is a seven and a half year old kitty, who is sweet with a lot of courage. Her coat is incredibly soft and fluffy like a duckling, and she loves to be brushed. She was rescued when she marched up to some kind people who gave her a safe place to raise her seven kittens. When she was transferred to her AW foster home, she was very frightened at first and sought safety by hiding. We gave her a safe space and a lot of quiet. With a lot of patience and treats, she finally came out. A cat, whom we thought was almost feral, turned out to be very social with humans, other cats, and even dogs. Ivy now has the run of the house. She is very smart and seems to enjoy learning tricks for treats. She knows how to "touch finger" and "get in kennel." Recently, she's discovered the joys of sitting on laps to watch TV. She's very playful and has a great sense of humor. All that said, she does still exhibit some fear-based behaviors. Therefore, we recommend that she go to a quiet home with people who are willing to commit to giving her the time and attention she needs to conquer her spookiness. She would do well with a support cat, especially a mellow male. (AW can assist with information about cat training. More information on Ivy is available from her foster people. Cats are tested for FeLV/FIV; dogs are tested for heartworm and are microchipped. Upon adoption, all animals are eligible for one month of complimentary ShelterCare Pet Insurance. Cats adopted at the Angel's Wish Pet Adoption and Resource Center also go home with a goodie bag, a coupon for a free nail trim, and a $5 off coupon for microchipping. 100% of adoption fees are applied to animal medical care. Our primary adoption site is the Angel’s Wish Pet Adoption and Resource Center at 161 Horizon Drive, Suite 106 in Verona-just a few minutes from Madison. Visit adoptable animals, and get acquainted in private visiting rooms. Open hours are Saturdays 10am to 4pm and Sundays 1pm to 4pm. We also hold weekly adoptions on Sundays from 1pm to 4pm at Petsmart East in Madison at 2216 East Springs Drive.
