Description:
Hototo is a big, young cat, primarily white with tea color spots. He has a gentle meow, so we named him Hototo - in Native American, it means 'a Warrior spirit who sings'. He showed up in a Brooklyn cat colony last year, but he was a domestic cat before that. You can see his minimal ear-tip, meaning he was neutered and placed back into the street. Now he's in a foster home, learning to trust, eating treats from his foster mom's hand. He needs some time to adjust, and we predict he will be a lap cat after some time and patience. Hototo was born around 03/07/2020.Adoption processOnce you've filled out an application, we will contact your references and put you in touch with the foster/caregiver of the cat. Once your application is approved, we schedule you to attend an online group seminar on cat care. Then you would sign the adoption papers, pay the adoption fee, and make arrangements for the cat to be moved to your home. We always do a home visit which is both reassuring to the cat when it is being introduced and to the foster who has taken care of the cat. Presently we are doing home visits with FaceTime or Zoom to confirm you have secure windows, no toxic plants and a generally safe environment for a cat. The adoption fee is $150 for one cat under 7 years old, $75 for one cat 7 years and older. All cats have been tested for the Feline Leukemia and FIV virus, vaccinated (FVRCP and Rabies vaccines), microchipped, dewormed and spayed/neutered.
