Hi, I’m Delta! I’m a tiny 2 year old tortie girl, looking for a calm, quiet home where I can finally relax and enjoy the good life. You see, I had a tough life outdoors as a young mama, until someone finally took me and my kittens in. I quickly made it known that I’m friendly and I did NOT want to go back outside!I really like people, but somehow I didn’t quite learn all the ways to communicate that, and I will get growly even as I approach you for pets and give you gentle head butts. I’m not sure why I do that, maybe I’m trying to purr and I can’t quite get the sound right! Despite my growlies, I’ve never been anything but gentle. I can be a bit of a nervous girl, probably from some rough times outside, so I think I will do best in a home without dogs. If there are kids in the home, they would need to be older kids (12+), and VERY calm and gentle with me. I do get spooked easily, so a loud and busy environment won’t be good for me. I do okay with other cats, with proper introductions of course, but I can get a bit intimidated at mealtimes, so if there are other kitties in the home, I’ll need to have my own designated meal space so I can feel secure when eating. I was REALLY skinny when I first got rescued, and it took me a long time to get to a healthy weight, so making sure I am eating enough will be important. I like both wet and dry food, and I seem to be a pretty big fan of Nulo freestyle chicken wet food. Ohhhh, the gravy! (You can see me posing near my beloved Nulo in one of the photos, guarding it!) I haven’t really gotten into toys yet, probably because I never really got to play outside, so all of that is new for me. Maybe we can try out some playtime together and see what I might like? I do know that I love to be pet and get scritches, and I really adore fluffy cozy beds for long naps. I’m not a very high energy girl, mostly I just want love and kindness, and a cozy home where I can finally feel safe. I definitely need a family who will be patient with me, as I adjust to living in a home for the first time, and who can understand that it will take me time to feel comfortable and unveil my beautiful purrsonality.
