Chester & Mocha(In Foster Care) Chester and Mocha were adopted as kittens by the sweetest couple ever. They were given the best life kitties could ever hope for. They were loved and cherished beyond words, and were cared for as well as anyone would care for their own children. Years went by, and the couple and their cats were extremely happy. Unfortunately, years later, the kitties lost their owners to old age. With the help of their Godmother, they landed in a wonderful foster home where they are currently temporarily residing. Mocha is a gorgeous tortoiseshell kitty with a lovely short coat, but minus the tortie catitude. She’s a sweetie! She will turn 14 this year. You’d never know it though; she’s a very healthy and physically fit kitty! Mocha prides herself on her youthfulness and playfulness. Mocha only admits to being 10, and even has altered her kitty ID accordingly! (Shhh. Don’t tell!). Mocha loves to cuddle in bed with her special person or people. She’s affectionately called “Mochy”! She’s very affectionate and loves to be pet. True Confession Time: Mocha has a slight addiction to the laser pointer! She loves chasing the light! She also loves her rabbit string toy which she’ll jump up and grab! Its not unusual to find Mocha racing up and down stairs when she gets a case of the zoomies! She’s a total sweetheart! Chester is a stunning black, silver and brown classic tabby with a handsome short coat. Chester has a bit of a Clint Eastwood raspy voice going for him which makes the girl cats swoon! Except for his sister Mocha, who isn’t all that impressed by it, quite honestly. Chester will be 13 this year. Like Mocha, he’s a picture of health. He recently visited his vet and had some routine bloodwork done. The vet commented that his health is like that of a 10 year old cat and he’s extremely healthy. He’s very loving and affectionate, and makes a perfect cuddle buddy! Chester loves to sleep with his special people and also enjoys playing too. Chester is a talkative kind of guy. He also will get a case of the zoomies and race the stairs with his sister! The two kitties are used to living in a quiet home. They are very interactive and social with their people. They are even social with visitors! Chester will jump on people’s laps, while Mocha is a bit more reserved with visitors but does like to hang out in the room with everyone too! They are used to getting their nails trimmed regularly. They love to be brushed and groomed. Ideally they would love a home where their person or people would be home the majority of the time. They would probably do best as only pets, although they could possibly live with a laid-back, mellow, uninterested dog. They would not enjoy living with children, only because they haven’t been around them. They have bonded equally well with men and women. Chester and Mocha eat wet food only, which they will both need to continue with. They also enjoy soft kitty treats such as Churo. They have beautiful coats and have perfect litter box habits. The kitties also love their cat tree situated in front of a sunny window! They’re both avid bird and wildlife watchers, and they love to bask in the sunshine too! Their Godmother has been in their life since they were first adopted as kittens. She tells us that Chester and Mocha will bond tightly with their new owner(s). When they lost their previous owners, they grieved as you would expect them to. We are happy to tell you that they adjusted to their foster home beautifully and both of them like and appreciate their foster dad very much! But they know they’re not home. They are such devoted, affectionate kitties who are just searching for their happily ever after! They aren’t picky or demanding cats at all; just wonderful, affectionate companions. Both kitties have been spayed/neutered and are current on vaccinations. They are FIV/FeLV negative. They require an indoor only home unless you happen to have a nice catio for them! No out of state adoptions please.Adoption processOur goal is to be a sanctuary for cats who are not adoptable and to find loving homes for those who are. We welcome you to visit our sanctuary to snuggle with our furballs. You may even end up going home with one...or two!!! Adoption fees vary from $50.00 to 150.00. You always need to remember our cats come with baggage. Lots of them were treated badly by people and it has taken time for them to trust us. They may need to come out of their shells once you adopt them. You need to give them time to see you are not going to hurt them. We love our Furballs and want good homes for all of them. Please remember it is all about the cats for us. We only adopt out our Furballs to people within 2-3 hours of our sanctuary because of the baggage they come with. This does not include some of the cats in foster care (contact their foster parents for more information).Shelter locationOur visiting hours are from 1-5pm every day.
