????Meet Barney the bunny ??ø While Barney isn??t actually a bunny ( shh don??t tell her!) we have made her an honorary team bunny member. Barney has made it part of her daily routine to escape from our cat room and hang out in the rabbit room where she spends her afternoon rolling and lounging on the rugs. She enjoys a good game of ??you don??t see me?? and ??try to catch me??. Barney also enjoys batting around toy mice and catching her string toys. Barney has quickly wiggled her way in to the volunteers hearts with her quirkiness and sassy personality. There is something about her that makes us smile and she is probably the cat with the most daily photo shares amongst our cat volunteers. Barney??s affection is on her terms. When she wants to cuddle she with jump on your lap and enjoy some head pats. If she doesn??t want attention a pat on the hand you will get. She especially loves to wind in between your feet. Barney would do ideal in a home with no other cats; and in an adult only home. She is tidy and clean in her litter box. Barney was found abandoned so we unfortunately don??t know much about her past. We estimated her in her older adult to early seniors years. She has been spayed, vaccinated, tested for felv/fiv and microchipped. She also has had a dental and has had most of her teeth removed ( but she still requests a hard food only diet as she dislikes canned food)June 13, 2022, 3:56 pmAdoption processFOR DOGS ...Potential adopters will need to complete the Canine Application which requires landlord reference or proof of home ownership along with vet reference and a non family personal reference. Some instances may require a home inspection. We require a meet and greet with all household members and resident dogs present at the shelter. The adoption fees are $175 to $400 ($150 for large senior dogs, $175 for small senior dogs, $275 for adults, $350 for puppies six months to one year, $400 for puppies under six months). FOR KITTENS ...Potential adopters will need to complete a Kitten Application and provide proof of vaccinations and spay/neuter for other animals living in the home. Renter must also provide a copy of their rental agreement showing pet allowance. The adoption fee is $130 for a DSH kitten, $160 for a DLH, specialty and purebred kittens. All kittens are flea treated, wormed, leukemia tested, and are up to date on shots as appropriate for their age. Adopter is responsible for remaining vaccines. Spay/neuter and microchipping is included in the adoption fee and will be done by the shelter when the kitten reaches the appropriate age.Click here to submit a kitten application online.
