Wilma is a very quiet, low key girl that is going to need the perfect Wilma house. She has been bounced around between houses and in and out of the shelter for the last several years and it is very hard on a gentle soul like her. We have tried her with other cats and she does not act out aggressively but really shuts down and stresses herself out so we recommend she go to a home where she can either be the only furry princess or possibly with one other cat that also has a calm, quiet personality. Wilma enjoys small amounts of attention spread throughout the day, too much at one time makes her scared and she will slink away to wrap herself in her blanket. She originally arrived when she was tossed out a house window, very obese and unable to clean her own bum which resulted in weeks of tender loving bum care to help her feel comfortable again. She is still obese and we are trying to monitor her diet to help her lose some weight.....exercise wise Wilma is currently on a diet to help her lose some excess weight and also has scheduled time outside of her cage for exercise but unfortunately, she likes to spend that time lounging on beds!She recently had a UTI and an elevated blood glucose number, but once the UTI was cleared up with antibiotics, her blood glucose dropped back down to normal. The vet recommended that she go on urinary health food at least while at the shelter and during the first couple months at a new house as stress will potentially flair a UTI up again. We recommend new adopters starting her in her own room for the first month or so and then slowly integrate her into the rest of the household to help her adjust with as little stress as possible. She does need a large, low, litter box (or 2) due to her size. This gal is going to need time, patience, and understanding, but she really deserves to find her forever home where she can wrap in a favorite blanket finally feel content and confident again!
