Little Tabitha is a striking striped tabby with a whole lotta spunk! She came to us with her Mom (Endora) and sister (Samantha) from the woods, abandoned as babies. This tiny gal has a unique behavior that, once you understand it, is adorable. Tabitha hisses when you approach her. No, wait, don’t think what we did at first, that she’s not human friendly… not at all the case. Once you get past the hiss greeting, Tabitha leans into and purrs like nobody’s business. We figure she learned to hiss as a survival tactic in the forest and now it’s just ingrained like a habit which doesn’t mean anything. Tabitha has turned out to be a total lover! Her sister looks to her for leadership, so Tabitha is the one who first explores everything – she loves sitting on the porch and watching birds, coming over to you to check out what you’re eating or drinking, and checking out your blanket or shirt doing her one two kneading move before curling up on your lap. We don’t know much about Tabitha with other cats or dogs other than she does her hissy greeting and most walk away, but she’s not at all aggressive. In fact, we guess that if living with another animal she’d likely do just fine once they, like we humans, realize she’s all about loving and has a heart of gold.
