Hi there! My name is Sassy, and I'm a 13-year-old golden aged girl looking for a loving forever home. I had a bit of a rough journey, but I'm still full of hope. Let me tell you my story.About a year and a half ago, I was brought to HART because my previous owners got a new dog. Sadly, I was absolutely terrified of the new addition to the family. My owners, thinking I couldn't adjust, wanted to euthanize me. Luckily, a compassionate friend intervened and brought me to HART instead. I will forever be grateful for that second chance.At HART, I was very upset. I was so sad at being uprooted and displaced that I didn't want anyone to come near me, and very loudly told everyone so. Fortunately, the dedicated staff worked tirelessly with me for a whole year, patiently helping me overcome my fears and insecurities. Gradually, they earned my trust, and I started seeking attention and sitting on laps. Finally, a wonderful person fell in love with me and took me home. My ""sassiness"" was her favorite thing about me. She love me for who I am. It was a dream come true.Sadly, after just two months of happiness together, my loving owner passed away. It broke my heart to lose her, and now I find myself back at HART, feeling angry and upset at being uprooted once again. But the staff here are determined to shower me with love and help me find a new family.I'm searching for someone who can offer me the stability and trust I crave. I need a home where I'll be the only cat and there are definitely no dogs. Indoor living suits me best, as I love having a window to gaze out of and a cozy space to call my own.
