We are Jade and Onyx: a delightful, cheery, affectionate, adventurous, bonded, sister-brother duo. We're told we are admirably resilient considering our telenovela origin story: our mama cat disappeared when we were wee kitten scruffs, and most of our siblings passed away before Rescue House found out about us. Thankfully, the two of us were discovered and nursed back to health in the nick of time-whew! But our saga continued: we were adopted by a couple that divorced and (sadly) couldn't keep us. After our home broke apart, we found ourselves looking for our forever home and again. So here we are, two floofy, lovin' midnight-black kitties, looking for the person/family that will love us forever and ever-emphasis on f-o-r-e-v-e-r! Let's see, what else might you want to know? There's so much good stuff to share! We do a wonderful job entertaining one another and ourselves. (Trust us, we'll entertain you, too! Feel free to cancel cable and watch us and our adorable antics instead!) We love playing with stick toys and our cardboard scritchy-scratchy, chasing lasers, and batting feline-appropriate balls about. And we are wonderfully gentle with furniture, and we won't chew cords or steal food. (We are told we are impeccable housemates!) We do take a little time to settle in, and during that process, we each may hunker down somewhere up high or in a hidey-hole together. Just be patient, and you will know we are comfortable when we start to show our frisky sides! If we aren't playing with one another, we will want you to give us our daily allotment of loving, and we each have different ways of telling you we are ready! ---Jade: I will emit mini happy squeaks. (I'm told my squeaks are beyond adorable!) Once I get to know you, I will bask in your affection and luxuriate in being brushed by you. I adore burrowing into your loving arms, and if you are amenable, I'll sleep splayed across your chest. (Bliss!) If you can't find me, I'm probably burrowed under a blanket, but when I hear you coming, I'll come running to greet you. ---Onyx: I fancy myself an ink-black feline beret; I will sleep draped on top of your head if given the chance! Jade is braver than I am-before running out to play, I often will hide behind something for a bit and stick one little eye out to see what's going on first! Following a romp or snooze on your head, I will roll over onto my back for pets. ***We MUST be adopted together.And just when you think we sound too good to be true ... we have even better news for you! We get along beautifully with everyone who treats us respectfully-be they two- or four-legged creatures. So, if your home hosts a (kind and gentle) dog, cat, or kitty-savvy child(ren), it's fine by us! We have oh-so much love to spread around! Well, it's time for us to play laser tag and possibly a round of soccer!
