Brown tabby & white, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 5/1/21, #18180Other cats: okay solo or w/ mellow cat Dogs: unknown Children: older children likely okay A kind person took Olive Oil in after noticing that she was hanging around in their backyard while visibly pregnant. Olive Oil was very sweet and affectionate, so that person called The Rescue House. Olive Oil moved to a foster home in what was supposed to be temporary quarters while a different foster prepared to welcome the new family, but Olive Oil was such a sweet kitty that the first foster decided she wanted to stay on for the three months needed to see mom and her seven(!) kittens through to adoption-readiness.Olive Oil is a cuddlebug kitty, but she has been very patient while her kittens grew and demanded people's attention; she let them go first before coming in for her own snuggles. As her motherly duties have wrapped up, she has been getting more playful and is a big fan of catnip toys that she can tear up. Of course, a warm sunbeam is very distracting, and Olive Oil loves to nap in that cozy sunlight. She can be a little hesitant when meeting new people, so don't take it personally if Olive Oil gives a little growl when you're first introduced; though she is never aggressive, her recent background of needing to be wary while fending for herself means she likes a moment or two to process that all is well and that these are new friends. She'll soon be her utterly charming self and content in your company.Olive Oil has been around other cats in the past, and even as her kittens have become independent of her, she's done well in their company. She's been sharing attention with seven kittens, though, so it's time for Olive Oil to get spoiled! We don't know her thoughts on dogs. While we have not seen her around children, we think she may be fine with gentle and respectful older kids.Olive Oil, like the versatile oil she's named for, will bring a smooth and flavorful companionship to her new home as she connects closely with her people.
