Miguel: black & gray tabby w/white, short hair, neutered male, born approx. 5/12/20, #15718Shasta: white/taupe/brown Lynx Point Siamese mix, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 5/12/20, #15720***Bonded Pair***Cats: like Dogs: gentle canines Children: quiet tweens & teensMiguel and Shasta came to Rescue House from a desolate desert area as kittens. During their initial vet checkup, the doctor noticed that one of Miguel's shoulders rose a little higher than the other when he walked. Miguel underwent X-rays, and we had two different veterinarians review the results. They both concluded that he somehow fractured his shoulder as a little baby; however, as it had healed and did not require any further treatment, he was ready to find a home. Cute as buttons, the two were quickly adopted. Unfortunately, their previous dad happens to be in the military, and when he was deployed recently, he had nowhere for them to go. As Rescue House kitties always have a place with us, we welcomed them back into the clowder and are holding their paws as they try their second chance at love. ---Miguel is a jovial little guy who just needs a few days to get the lay of the land before he is out and ready to party! While the injury that he sustained to his shoulder is visible if you watch him closely as he moves, it does not hinder him in the least. In fact, he is an acrobat when it comes to the wand toy and can throw down with the best of them in the wrestling ring! Not fond of sharing his toys, Miguel likes to drag his prize to a supersecret spot after a successful hunt. At that chosen location, he will stockpile the fuzzy fruits of his labor-don't be surprised when you stumble upon his stash! Willing to take intermittent play breaks during the day, he will appreciate when you grab him periodically for a brief cuddle. As soon as you finish giving him a loving nuzzle though, he will request that you put him back on the ground, so he can begin running around again! ---Shasta is more reserved and will need a longer period of time to get comfortable in her new abode. She has a very specific process that she goes through-it involves camping out in a sheltered spot and just observing everything for at least a week. Then, she will start to come out for brief periods to dip her toe in the pool of engagement with her new surroundings and family. Eventually, she will settle in and join Miguel in boogying down on the playground. (Like her brother, Shasta is also frisky and fun!) Although she will relish a handful of pets, she doesn't want you to overdo it with the mushy gushy stuff-she prefers to reserve the majority of her affection for Miguel. Her favorite activity in the entire world is curling up with him on the very top of the cat tree! ***Miguel and Shasta MUST be adopted together. These teenagers can live with other welcoming kitties. In their kittenhood, they were in a foster home with gentle dogs and did fine. Both are a little cautious and would prefer a quiet home. For this reason, we suggest a household without young children-calm tweens and teens might be okay. The best of friends, all Miguel and Shasta need is a little patience, stability, and love to flourish! Will they find their forever home in your heart?
