Malibu is a snuggly tortoiseshell girl, mostly black, with some splashes of white on her face and a white chin. She came to HART through no fault of her own and is about 15 years old. Malibu has gotten used to shelter life after having a home for many years, although she is not a huge fan of a room full of cats. She lets it be known to all that she does crave love, attention and petting. If you stop petting her she may tap you gently with a paw, or perhaps a nip, asking you to continue. As a lap cat, she has lots of love to give and would welcome a quiet home for her golden years. Malibu had a neurological episode when she first arrived at the shelter. This caused some blindness and ataxia (loss of coordination). We are not sure what caused the episode but currently she appears completely normal. She really enjoys playing still and is always out and about in her room to greet visitors. She would most likely be happiest as the only kitty.Malibu has significant arthritis of her elbows. She walks with a bowleg gait. We have started her on a monthly injection that should help her with this condition. She also should receive joint supplements. Our medical team requires that Malibu's adopter has an established veterinary relationship.
