LovebugHi, I'm Lovebug. Once you get to know me, you'll understand how I got my name! I was brought to HSHC by an officer who found me on the side of the road last Fall. He thought I had been hit by a car. I was soaking wet and malnourished with a cut above my left eye. I was traumatized and terrified of people. I am only 9-months old! Because I was so fearful and under-socialized, a staff member kept me in their office instead of putting me in a cage. I hid at first and didn't interact with anyone, but I became friendly over time. I'm in foster care now and am much more outgoing. I get along well with the other cats who live here and am taking social cues from them, which has helped me gain confidence. I'm a playful little girl and have the most fun with interactive toys like laser beams because they always give me a serious case of the zoomies. I like to hide behind corners or walls and jump out to scare the other cats, hoping they'll play with me. I enjoy sitting on my foster mom's lap throughout the day and sleeping on her chest or legs at night. I crave physical interaction and am very affectionate. I'm vocal when I want attention and often announce my successful hunts to ensure everyone knows when I've caught a fabric mouse or toy bird. I'm still a bit skittish after everything I've gone through, so my forever family will need to be patient with me as I get to know them and acclimate to my new surroundings. After getting comfortable and establishing trust, I'll be the best companion imaginable! 7-12-23
