Adopt Lola a Tortoiseshell Domestic Shorthair / Mixed cat in Fresno

Location:
Fresno, CA
Description:

All of my surviving kittens have been adopted and I'm left looking out the window wondering when my person is coming. I am the best momma cat any of the foster/volunteers have seen. I happily nursed until the day my last baby was adopted at 13-weeks-old. I continued to nurse my babies even after my spay and exploratory surgery of my abdomen, resulting in an incision that was about 4-5 inches long; I didn't care. As soon as I was reunited with my then 10-week-old babies, I gave them milk even though it caused me pain for them to nurse. In fact, after my surgery, my babies didn't recognize me because I smelled different. It was the most heartbreaking experience of parenting-you give your babies everything and when all you need is a little comfort and love in return, they hiss at you and run away. How could they not recognize me? Luckily my babies one by one slowly recognized me within a couple of days. My babies had their spay/neuter surgeries before mine, but I instantly recognized them as mine and nursed them through their recovery, even though they smelled differently. I'm just a natural momma. My prior owners left me behind when they moved. The new tenants said I kept trying to get in the house, they found out why when I gave birth at the shelter the next day to six kittens. One of my kittens died within the first couple of days, but my other five are big and strong. One of my babies suffered a broken leg at 5 weeks old. I nursed him back to health and his leg has miraculously healed! The vet was planning to amputate his leg after he gained enough weight to survive the surgery. Luckily, within that time frame, I was able to lovingly nurse him back to health. His leg healed and he is walking almost normally. I'm a Calico with mostly black and I have huge yellow, anime eyes. My meow is very soft and kitten-like and I purr very deeply. I'm affectionate and love to get cuddles. I will come when you call me and if you indicate a spot on the couch for me, I'll lovingly jump up and join you. I am so grateful to have a safe place with warm cuddles. I'm being socialized to other cats and dogs in my foster home and doing very well. I know that I've been given a second chance most don't get, please let me show you how grateful I am. If you understand and are willing to pay tribute to the sacrifices mothers make for their babies, then we will be soul mates.
