Hi, my name is Kaia! It means “the sea,” and my rescuer named me that cause after she trapped me, I flowed like the sea out of her trap and got loose in a garage! I had to be trapped a second time and it took a whole team of people to find me, I hid that good! Anyway, it was a pretty scary introduction to humans, but after a few days of getting regular food, I decided people and indoor life are the thing for me! I’m a quiet girl who likes to chill in her cave bed. I really like pets (chin and neck scritches please!) although I’m still a little shy, and I’m still figuring out how I feel about being picked up. The people who care for me say I have some of THE SOFTEST fur ever. I’m not picky about my food, but I really do like wet food the best of all. Extra points if it has gravy! I’m still kind of figuring out toys. There aren’t any toys where I came from, so they are new to me, and I’d love a family that can teach me how to play, and maybe give me the fun kittenhood I never had a chance to enjoy. I’m from a colony so I definitely like other cats, with proper slow introductions of course! I’m not sure if I like dogs, because my current people don’t know if I’ve ever been around them. I’ve lived on the streets for a year and a half, and life hasn’t been easy. I’m ready to turn a new page and settle into a home with a family of my own. I will do best in a quiet and calm home, adults only or with very calm older kids, and I need a family who will be patient with me as I adjust to being in a home for the first time. Life indoors with people is a whole new world for me! It will take time for me to warm up, but my caregivers say I am well worth the wait.
