Hinnant is a real lover boy. He'll make you feel like your the only person in the world for him so that he gets all the lovings he can. He loves to be pet and loved on. He has a soft meow and coos like a dove. He plays hard and sleeps even harder around! He likes to stretch as long as he can stretch himself out, and bask in the sunlight.He's always down for a petting session. Since his ear has completely healed he plays long and he plays hard. Hinnant needs a lively attentive family...he is so seeking for companionship. He does learn boundaries but is young enough to forget them the very next encounter.... you know, " well, maybe THIS time she will want to play with me.....pounce”, so his foster’s cats have begun to hate him.He just likes stalking and bum rushing them so a timid cat wouldn't work with him. he’s gotten over his fear of dogs (gentle cat friendly of course) but he may get in their face too much too. Because he does get overbearing though he may be best as a solo kitty.And if he's frustrated or bored he gets moody and has been known to put his mouth on people so even though he's been only fabulous with children we are going to recommend he not be in a home with children He is a very loving kitty despite what he has been though. He just needed time for that wound to heal and see life differently. He is a cool guy which is amazing for a kitten coming out of an abusive situation. He truly just wants to be loved. Hinnant came from a broken down trail park where some older boys were abusing animals. His ear was completely torn up when he got into foster care but his personality is still of pure love. Poor little Hinnant’s ear wasn’t healing properly, so at his neuter the vet also stitched it up. It will look wonky but adds character to an already spectacular look. He tested positive for FIV, which could contribute to why his immune system was having a harder time healing him. He’s negative for FeLV. Unfortunately being FIV+ is often so misunderstood that cats like him get passed over all the time. Where becoming FIV+ is always a possibility for kitties, particularly when they hadn't been spayed or neutered, growing up on the street or fighting cats off when dumped outside at a barn or resort (it is contracted via a deep bite or through sex). The good news is that a FIV positive kitty can live a full life inside and is not likely to pass it on, if fixed and he/she is not aggressive. With a slow introduction to another friendly cat or in a home with other FIV+ they usually do so well. They are the purrfect kitty for the right home and an experienced cat owner.FIV does not transmit across species. So an FIV+ kitty can easily be adopted into a home with dogs as well (with a slow introduction of course), or as a single animal in a home.You can see more pictures and videos of our fosters on our facebook page: Sophia L'Orange Kitten RescueAll of our adoptable animals are cared for and assessed in foster homes (we do not have a shelter), up to date on age appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed or neutered and tested for FeLV/FIV (Hinnant is FIV positive), before they are adopted.
