Adopt Ginny a Brown Tabby Domestic Shorthair (short coat) cat in Fort Mill
Location:
Fort Mill, SC
Description:
Ginny is a remarkable rescue story. She came to our rescue on March 5, 2024, from the Lancaster, SC, SPCA. She had been hit by a car and was found unconscious across the centerline of the road. She was immediately taken to the vet, and although she had no broken bones, she did have minor abrasions and some swelling around one eye. Upon further examination, she was also pregnant. The vet says Ginny is 18-24 months old. On March 25, 2024, Ginny gave birth to three healthy kittens. Soon after, we introduced her to five newborn orphans, and to her credit and to our joy, she immediately accepted the orphans and raised all eight kittens to adoption as her own. In the short time Ginny has been with our rescue, she transitioned from the ever-present dangers of the outside world to being a gentle little homebody. She will do very well in a quiet and affectionate home. Although she is still tiny and will likely remain so, she loves food. She is still learning to trust, but actively seeks human contact. She accepts love and is learning how to love back. Oh, and although her fur is short, she loves to be brushed. Ginny still needs time and patience to completely adjust to life with human companions, but ferals often remain amusingly quirky throughout their lives. Having an adult rescue feral of our own for over six years has proved rewarding as well as entertaining. They see the world differently yet genuinely seem to appreciate the comfort and safety a home offers. Ginny is completely litter trained. She is also FIV/FeLV negative, vaccinated, spayed, and chipped. We understand that adult ferals require special consideration from special adopters, and adjust the adoption fee accordingly. To set up a visit, drop me a note at XXXX@gmail.com or PM me. If you are considering adopting her, please fill out and submit the adoption contract found in The Adoption Process link on my website (cherylsferalsandfosters.com). In the meantime, you can follow her journey on Facebook: Cheryl’s Ferals and Fosters Chat Group. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3).
