Davenport is part of our “county kitties” litter. She has been in a foster home to get a break from the Shelter and so we could learn about her in a home environment. Here is what her foster family has to say about her: “Dav is extremely curious, a little mischievous, and a lot adventurous. She loves climbing, rough-housing with her siblings, and has a fondness for every type of toy ever made. She tends to treat me like I`m one of her siblings, which means that she likes to sleep right up against me, but also likes to claw/bite my limbs to initiate play-time. I`ve started keeping a kicker-style toy next to me whenever I`m hanging out with her, and re-direct towards that when she gets feisty; it works like a charm! She`s hesitant about being pet, and tolerates her back being touched much more than her head. She`s also started climbing in my lap to hang out and observe the world around her, but isn`t fully relaxed when doing so (yet). We`re getting there! She`s not a huge fan of brushes- she tries to eat them.” Davenport would do wonderful in a home with one of her siblings and/or a friendly, playful kitty. Davenport has been around adult cats in the Shelter and has done well. She may do well in a home with dogs with a slow introduction and management. A home with older kids may be a fit provided the guardians in the home help manage Davenport’s overarousal behavior during times of excitement. Interested in meeting? Come meet her today!
