Texas Pete and Cholula were born their mother who was living outside being fed by a young girl. Their mother had received no veterinary care, including vaccinations. Neighbors contacted Pippi's Place to see if we would be willing to take in the little family as the young girl could no longer take care of them. Texas Pete and Cholula lost their mother the day before Pippi's Place volunteers arrived. The sibling pair has been hilariously energetic and supremely affectionate since being taken in by rescue. We were very surprised when both of them tested positive for FeLV on the day of their surgery. The kittens continue to be in great health and are being given holistic supplements daily to boost their immune systems in hopes that they will beat the virus. Cholula definitely lives up to her name! This girl has one of the most exuberant, sweetest spirits of any kitten that we have ever seen. She happily runs to the door to meet her foster mom who better pay attention to her right away. If not, Cholula will happily climb up her body as if to say, ""Hey, I am here and need some attention please!"". She gives kisses on the lips and loves sitting on your shoulder to ""help"" clean the litter box. Cholula has so much fun playing with her brother Texas Pete. They square off, shake their little booties, and hop toward each other like bunnies before zooming around the room to see who can get to the top of the cat tree first! Cholula is a precious, confident little girl who happily engages with everyone she meets. She is so excited to find her forever family!Please read the information provided below regarding FeLV in kittens and cats. The negligence of humans has thrown quite a curve ball at these two little ones but they continue to persevere with nothing but joy to share. They deserve to have lives filled with companionship and love for however long they are able to do so.
