Hi there wonderful people of Colorado. My name is Boots, an orange and white tabby girl, who is 10 years young, and I cannot wait to meet you and show you just what an affectionate little sweetie I am. In my short life, I have had many adventures that have made me into the optimistic, calm, gentle girl I am. I know it seems strange to be so calm in the face of a scary life, but that is just who I am. I like to look on the bright side of life. While I have a bit of selective amnesia about my life in Kansas before being brought to a shelter, I can tell you that that shelter was very scary. It was filled with other frightened cats, and there was a lot of pressure on us because if we didn't change our personalities and shy behavior ASAP, our days were numbered. I don't know exactly what that means because I can't count, but I know it was bad. Luckily, the people at Max Fund decided to take me in and saved me. It was such a big adventure driving 10 hours to Denver, and it has been great here. I was first put in a room with Diabetic cats as the doctors thought I needed to have my blood sugar controlled by medicine, but it turns out my condition is one of the good cases that can be controlled by diet alone. See, bright side. I was a little nervous around the other cats, but, boy, did I love the human visitors. On my first day, I immediately curled up on someone's lap. How lucky am I that I can do that? I am now in another room with many other cats, but I have a much bigger apartment which lets me spread out more. Bright side. I love my human interaction and prefer it to that with other cats. I just love to cuddle up with people. I am told that I have an adorable unique face and a sweet demeanor by every staff member and volunteer, so I don't understand why visitors keep overlooking me and not giving me a chance at the forever home I want. Still, I keep looking at the bright side-I am well cared for and loved, and I know for a fact that my person will come meet me when the time is right, and I will live my days in a wonderful forever home where I can cuddle with people all day long.
