FIV+DOB: 4/20/20 Alaska is a great name for this very chill cat, but her foster mom calls her Bakee. She came to Colony Cats with six kittens (...and very skinny)! Alaska gets along with everyone - other cats, dogs and even little kids. Her playful side has really come out now that she is rid of her babies. Loves treats and toys, and will chase the red dot. Alaska is FIV+. Feline Immunodeficiency Virus positive cats can live normal lives both in quality and duration. They do take special care in terms of monitoring them for signs of infection. FIV can be passed from cat to cat via deep bite wounds, but not from casual contact so positive cats can live with negative cats without the fear of spreading FIV as long as they get along and are spayed/neutered.
