How this pet arrived: Maddie was rescued by the Humane Law Enforcement Team. At SDHS: Maddie has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. Why this pet is the one for you: Maddie came into the shelter as a stray, we do not have too much information on Maddie but this is what we have learned about her while she has been in our care.Behavior history summary:Maddie came into care with a litter of kittens and spent time in foster with her kittens; Maddie tolerated intake treatments. While in foster care and in care on campus, Maddie displayed fearful behavior (avoidance, hissing, swatting). While in foster care, Maddie is reported to have disliked reaching, but warmed up a bit over time, rubbing on foster's legs and meowing when foster would prepare her food.Cats/Dogs:No known history.Kids:Due to fearful behavior, strongly recommended for households without children under the age of 10.Behavior consult:Virtual consultation for fear required.Additional information:Maddie may do best in a quiet household who is willing and able to give her ample time and space to adjust to her new home and household members. This may look like an extended confinement period and refraining from petting until she is more comfortable in her new home. If you would like to meet Maddie come to the Escondido Campus.
