Bond is a delicate two-year-old brown and white cat whose journey to safety began when she was found in a box near a construction site. Now residing at Dakin, her shy and apprehensive nature speaks to the trauma of her early experiences. Her favorite pastime is finding her favorite blanket or comforter and snuggling for hours end. Nervous and easily frightened, Bond requires a patient and loving environment to help her gradually build trust and feel secure. With time and gentle care, she has the potential to blossom into a cherished companion, revealing the sweet and affectionate cat hidden beneath her wary exterior. Change is hard for this cat. This cat will be very nervous when you first bring them home. You will need to set up a room with a litter box, food, and water. It will take days for this cat to become comfortable and confident in the new home. This cat will be going home with a behavior plan that will need to be followed in order for everyone to transition successfully. If you're ready to adopt within the next 24-48 hours and want to learn more about, meet, or adopt this pet, you can start the process in one of two ways: Come in during open adoption hours Tuesday - Saturday 12:30p-3:00p. Adopting through this process will take several days and highly desirable pets are likely to no longer be available. PLEASE NOTE: Adoption inquiries are not holds or reservations. Pets are adopted by the first person we talk with who is a good match for the pet's needs. Multiple inquiries are accepted for each pet. All cat adoption fees include; -spay/neuter-rabies vaccine-current distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian)-FeLV/FIV blood test-microchip implanted & registered to the adopter-treatment of fleas/ticks/ear mites-veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin-free vet exam within 30 days after adoption with participating veterinariansMost pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your new pet.
