Elaine would love for you to give her a chance! She just needs a little understanding, that's all. Elaine was brought to our Newark shelter as a stray in the fall of 2023. She was later transferred to us in April and we've been getting to know and love this little 3 1/2 year old girl. It's obvious that Elaine is such a sweetheart that maybe never had much human kindness in her young life. She was initially very nervous and skittish but since settling in, Elaine is happy to chill out in our free-roaming area, gaze lazily out the window while snoozing on comfy blankets, and she enjoys socializing with other cats too. Elaine no longer runs from people, but she does need a little time to get to know you. Once she does, she'd be happy to be your friend. She'll need time to get used to a new home and we're confident that once she does, she'll come right out of her shell and never look back!
