Hazel is a beautiful, sweet and sociable young lady who, at the tender age of one year, found herself suddenly mother to three kittens and living in a shelter. When her friend, also a mother, was unable to care for her own four kittens, Hazel took over the care of those kittens as well. She and her newly enlarged family of seven were quickly moved out of the shelter to a foster home, where Hazel could relax and focus on the job of mothering.With her kittens now old enough for adoption themselves, it is time for Hazel, barely more than a kitten herself, to find the forever home she very much deserves.Hazel is a lovely cat, a beautiful and friendly calico who comes to greet you at the door when you enter her room and who sometimes sits on your lap, but more often perches on the arm of the chair you are sitting in just because she wants to be near you. Even when she’s lounging on her own, her eyes are usually on her human because she appreciates your company. She loves pets and scratches and purrs constantly when with you, even when you aren’t petting her. She also loves to play and probably will enjoy that even more when she doesn’t have kittens underfoot. Hazel would prefer a home that is on the calmer, quieter side, preferably with no rambunctious young children. She has not been with dogs, but I think she would prefer a non-dog home. Her litter box habits are perfect, thank you very much, and she likes both wet and dry food.
