A volunteer writes:Philly's owner passed away. For one month, she lived alone in an empty apartment, fed by caring neighbors but eventually she was brought to the Manhattan Care Center for us to find her a home. Philly does not like her kennel and gets upset when it is in disarray. She likes space, order and freedom...Right after "housekeeping" leaves, Philly eats her breakfast(she likes her food mixed with broth) and hops on top of her den for a nap. She is then, definitively better disposed to hearing sweet words and accepting pets that she welcomes with faint meows and some biscuits making. The little Tortie is having a hard time in a place that she does not recognize as hers. There is a remedy, though, for her predicament. A new home, a new owner or family(for now with no children) will bring warmth and peace to Philly's heart, opening the door to a new life as a loving and beloved pet.
