Dr. WafflesSince I have no idea how I got it, let's not even address my name. I am 10-years-6-months-old and spent most of my life as an outdoor cat. Before coming to the HSHC, I lived inside a home for two years while fending off the German Shepherd and three cats that lived with my family. I was an unhappy camper. I was surrendered to HSHC on September 15 to find a new, more welcoming home. I was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection and spent a long time in Sick Bay. The stress of living indoors and being tormented by a dog and cats had given me a severe case of the willies. On October 7, I moved into the cattery. When the interviewer lady called on me, I was having an afternoon snooze. I felt so comfortable I did not get out of bed to greet her. But I perked up as soon as she began to pet me. I leaned my head into her hand to show how much I loved the attention. I preferred that she keep touching me rather than eat the treat she offered me. It was decided that I needed a fresh start in an understanding foster home where I could have a small place to call my own with everything I needed. This private spot would give me a relaxing refuge from everyday stress. Here is where I learned the rules and expectations of a new family. I have lived in a foster home since December 31 and have enjoyed every minute. My foster family calls me a bedtime cuddle kitty - some nights on the human's feet, some nights against the pillow.
