Rosalita is an absolute sweetheart! This big-hearted girl loves cuddling with gentle people she trusts and wants to be near wherever you are, happily following you around. She'll meow or roll on her back to get your attention and to remind you she cares. Rosalita loves gentle petting and would be a great companion for someone who wants a cat that is affectionate, playful and wants to be a central part of your life. She enjoys running around playing with mouse toys and playing peek-a-boo and tag by hiding under the bed and coming out to surprise you when you walk by. Once she trusts you, she doesn't mind being picked up and is extremely calm so you can cradle her. She is initially timid with strangers and a bit jumpy to loud, irregular noises. She usually expresses her concern by going to check where the noise is coming from like a little guard kitty. Rosalita doesn't struggle when you trim her nails and is tidy with her litter box. This beauty with her soft orange fur and white paws was found as a stray in Queens. She does not like other animals and should be your only furry friend. Rosalita was born around March 2022.Adoption processOnce you've filled out an application, we will contact your references and put you in touch with the foster/caregiver of the cat. Once your application is approved, we schedule you to attend an online group seminar on cat care. Then you would sign the adoption papers, pay the adoption fee, and make arrangements for the cat to be moved to your home. We always do a home visit which is both reassuring to the cat when it is being introduced and to the foster who has taken care of the cat. Presently we are doing home visits with FaceTime or Zoom to confirm you have secure windows, no toxic plants and a generally safe environment for a cat. The adoption fee is $150 for one cat under 7 years old, $75 for one cat 7 years and older. All cats have been tested for the Feline Leukemia and FIV virus, vaccinated (FVRCP and Rabies vaccines), microchipped, dewormed and spayed/neutered.
