Baby, Domestic Shorthair For Adoption In Brooklyn, New York

Location:
Brooklyn, NY
Description:

My foster writes:Baby is initially very timid and shy, and will need a quiet space to adjust. It took a full week for her to come out of her hiding spot under the bed, but once she felt comfortable she became very sweet and loving. You can tell she enjoys attention and affection, just needs to be given some space while she adjusts. She will also need that safe space for a quick retreat, in case she's startled and wants to hide.Baby did live with other cats previously, so I believe she may enjoy having another cat to play with. I don't know if she ever lived with children, but because she is so easily startled it may be better than she go to a home with adults or teenage children.Baby is a very relaxed but playful cat, her favorite toys include the cat dancer and laser pointer. She loves relaxing near the window watching birds, and exploring the house to find hidden treats. Baby prefers not to be held, but she loves pets especially around her ears. When she's really happy, she will roll onto her back for more! Some other things she likes are sisal scratch posts, cardboard, and soft pillows and blankets for loafing. She's been very well behaved, and a pleasure to have as a foster! What my friends at ACC say about me:I have lived with cats.I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.I prefer to call the shots and enjoy coming to you when I'm ready for pets.Baby tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home. Please check here for updated adoption hours.
