Meet Poppy, a charming cat with a heartwarming story! This one-and-a-half-year-old beauty comes from Chicago, where she once roamed as a stray, raising five healthy kittens. Fortunately, a group of caring community members looked after her until Forever Fortunate Felines rescued her and brought her into a loving foster home. Poppy's journey hasn't been without its challenges, as she suffered an eye injury outdoors. However, with prompt and attentive care from our veterinarians, she made a full recovery. Despite her tough start, Poppy is incredibly affectionate and loving. She adores human company and is a certified lap cat, reveling in affectionate strokes and pets. While Poppy isn't fond of dogs yet, she might be open to the idea in the future. With other cats, a slow introduction is recommended to reduce stress and give them the best chance to become friends. Poppy's affectionate nature extends to children, as she's fantastic with them. Loud noises and playful antics don't faze her, making her a great fit for a bustling household with kids. Poppy would thrive in a home where she can share her love with a new family. This helps to ensure a great match with you and your family. In order to get the process going, would you kindly fill out our detailed online application located here: http://www.foreverfortunatefelines.org/adopt Completing our online application does not commit you to adopt from our rescue. Rather it helps us to understand your requirements and match you with the best possible cat or kitten. Once you complete the application and it is approved, we can set up a meet and greet and if all works out, you may bring the kittens or cats home the same day. Please make sure to bring an adequately sized pet carrier with you to your meet and greet. We recommend a pet carrier which opens from the top as this is the easiest way to place a cat inside a carrier. If you do decide to adopt, we do expect you to take home your cat the same day as there are so many cats and kittens which need to be rescued from high kill shelters, we almost always rescue a new cat or kitten the very next day. If it is not possible for you to take your cat or kitten home the same day, we do charge a boarding fee of $10 per day for supplies and to encourage you to take your newly adopted cat home. We will board for a maximum of 3 days if needed to allow you time to get needed supplies. Our adoption fees are listed at the link below. This fee includes full vetting, flea treatment, de-worming, spay surgery, FeLV and FIV test, microchip insertion, and vaccinations up to date for the kittens or cats age.
