Meet Josie, a petite and sweet 1-year-old female calico cat. She was found wandering in and out of yards in search of food with her bonded buddy, Joey. They were initially thought to be feral because of how frightened they were, so they each have tipped ears. However, the kind woman who rescued them quickly realized that they love being curious housecats. Josie and Joey are initially nervous about meeting new people, but they gradually come out of their shells and will blossom in the right environment. How the two came to be together is unknown, but they definitely love each other! Josie loves to come over for pets and being brushed. She can also be a bit skittish, making her best suited for a quiet and calm home with an experienced and patient adopter. While being petted, Josie purrs and rolls on her sides and back. She'll even allow brief belly rubs! While sleeping, her face resembles a cat emoji! So cute! While in foster care, Josie and Joey haven't been exposed to much yet, but Josie isslowly building her confidence and she wants to explore. Josie's playful side shines through when she acrobatically jumps to catch a bird feather toy. She also adores her SmartyKat Hot Pursuit toy and will sit by it when she wants it turned on! Josie is often the instigator when it comes to chase and wrestling games with Joey. Being a bonded pair you get the best of both worlds. Josie is spunky and kitten-like, while 3-year-old Joey is more chill. This helps to ensure a great match with you and your family. In order to get the process going, would you kindly fill out our detailed online application located here: http://www.foreverfortunatefelines.org/adopt Completing our online application does not commit you to adopt from our rescue. Rather it helps us to understand your requirements and match you with the best possible cat or kitten. Once you complete the application and it is approved, we can set up a meet and greet and if all works out, you may bring the kittens or cats home the same day. Please make sure to bring an adequately sized pet carrier with you to your meet and greet. We recommend a pet carrier which opens from the top as this is the easiest way to place a cat inside a carrier. If you do decide to adopt, we do expect you to take home your cat the same day as there are so many cats and kittens which need to be rescued from high kill shelters, we almost always rescue a new cat or kitten the very next day. If it is not possible for you to take your cat or kitten home the same day, we do charge a boarding fee of $10 per day for supplies and to encourage you to take your newly adopted cat home. We will board for a maximum of 3 days if needed to allow you time to get needed supplies. Our adoption fees are listed at the link below. This fee includes full vetting, flea treatment, de-worming, spay surgery, FeLV and FIV test, microchip insertion, and vaccinations up to date for the kittens or cats age.
