LONG STAY 50% REDUCED ADOPTION FEE THROUGH SEPTEMBER: $75! Yancey is a very, very sweet but shy kitten who is looking for a forever home where his personality can shine. He can be a little timid in new situations, but once he gets comfortable, he loves attention (especially in the form of chin scratches) and playing with humans and cats alike. This boy will give you the best face nuzzles and feels good about belly rubs once he trusts you. He starts purring as soon as his foster family pets him and loves to wrestle and play with the older cat in his foster home. Yancey would do well with a confident cat or kitten in the home to help coax him out of his shell and is so excited to meet his forever family. He was in a temporary foster home while his foster family was out of town. First he stayed in a 3-tierd cat condo in the foster room and really enjoyed observing other kittens in the foster room. Despite not knowing his new foster mom, he had purrs for her the minute she reached to pet him. After about 2 days, if she would place her face into the condo; he would appoach to give awesome face nuzzles. Then his temp foster gave him access to the whole foster room. He would shy away for the first two days of freedom, but then if she sat on the floor nearby and talked to him, he would come over for more face nuzzles and lots of pets. He is going to make the patient person in a quiet home an awesome friend, and that home really should have another friendly and social kitty to teach him more of his own confidence. He really is a love bug!!!!Meet Yancey and Swain at PetSmart, Bleachery Blvd, 12-4pm, Saturday during our adoption event. You can also apply online to adopt to schedule a meet and greet another time. Yancey and Swain have been in separate foster homes since they arrived into our care but have recently reconnected in one foster home. All cats are spayed/neutered, up to date on their vaccines, FELV/FIV tested, microchipped, given a few rounds of dewormer and started on monthly flea preventative. All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label.
