Adopt Tumblr a Domestic Mediumhair / Mixed cat in Colorado Springs

Description:

Meet Tumblr and Twitch! They are bonded sisters and have special needs. Tumblr is a pretty DMH orange tabby and white, and Twitch is DMH grey with a hint of scattered Tortie blondness. They are super sweet and love grooming each other. They were found at an abandoned hotel room in TX, neglected, and then scheduled for euthanasia. They weighed only 3.5 lbs. at an estimated age of 8.5 yrs. old (DOB 6/05/14). They have Cerebellar Hypoplasia and are unable to stand on their own. They have gained strength thanks to the medical care and good food, and are active and vocal about wanting attention. They love warm washcloth baths and brushing, especially after a serving of wet food, and the strokes on their body calms them. Their jerky movements diminish during petting, and they are eager for human love. Tumblr is more active and vocal, has a slight heart murmur, and has had a dental. She loves to be held or lay on a lap, and enjoys time in her cart very much. She is learning to take a few steps while in the cart. She likes to take the lead role with Twitch and watches out for her. Twitch has become more mobile as well, shifting around and rolls from side to side to enjoy pets. She is not as comfortable in her cart yet, but makes progress each time. Each one has gained weight and great mobility. The hope is that they each may learn to use their wheelchair/cart, however it is yet unknown. Their journey is just beginning, and with the right person to care for them, their special needs can be managed so they can enjoy a happy life.
