Adopt AURORA* a Calico or Dilute Calico Domestic Shorthair / Mixed (short coat)

Meet Aurora. This cute calico came to the Shelter as a shy stray. She was VERY nervous when she first arrived but over time, staff and volunteers worked with her to help her blossom Aurora made some progress in the Shelter but due to the limitations of Shelter staffing and resources – we asked a wonderful foster parent to help us by taking her into their home. In foster, she was nervous again in the transition but started making baby steps of progress day by day. She enjoys hanging out in her covered crate with a heated bed as a safe spot and is venturing out more and more. When she warms up, she is very sweet and extremely gentle. Once she is comfortable, she enjoys taking treats and playing. Aurora is looking for a patient adopter to help her to continue gaining confidence in the world around her. A home with other cats may be a fit provided they are cat-savvy and there is a slow, thoughtful introduction. Aurora does not have any history with dogs. A cat-savvy, mellow dog may be a fit. Due to Aurora’s shy nature, a home with young children is not recommended.
