*Chop needs a new home*Chop showed up on a friendly doorstep and the good samaritans searched for his owners, but no one claimed him. His vet care is done - neuter, chip, FeLV/FIV test (negative), FVRCP and rabies vaccines, deworming, no fleas and he wanted so badly to stay in the home, but the resident cat does not want a friend. He showed up at our home in August of last year and quickly stole our hearts. He can be a bit timid at first, but will soon become your best friend. He's a bundle of outgoing energy, but also enjoys a cat nap on your lap and sharing a bed at night. He loves being sneaky and patting at your feet/legs from behind curtains, under the bed, etc. While he's a charmer and super sweet, he can also get a little feisty, in a playful manner, so a home with small children may not be the best fit. He came straight from the woods to inside and had no issues with immediately using a litter box. He is up to date on all vaccines and has a microchip. We believe he would do well with other kitties, but currently only lives with our 16 year old senior girl who has health problems and just isn't able to keep up and play with him. That being the only reason we are now sadly searching for a home better suited for his age and personality.Adoption processOur pet adoption process is thorough and efficient, to ensure we do our due diligence and choose the best fit for our animals. The adoption process begins with an adoption application to further your interest in our dogs/cats. The adoption application is non-binding and completion does not guarantee adoption. Our adoption coordinators will contact your references and contact you for an initial interview. Once approved for adoption, we will help you coordinate a visit to the foster home or invite you to our next public adoption event. A home check, interview, and reference check is required. Your family should help decide which animal is best suited for your home and lifestyle. Please remember that this decision should not be handled lightly and we expect you to care for your pet throughout its lifetime, keeping emergencies and financial status in mind. If you think there's any possibility you won't be able to give the pet the best life possible, then please do not adopt. Our volunteers are always on hand to help answer your questions and to help you choose a pet that is right for you.Shelter locationWe are a foster-based Rescue organization, so all pets are in a loving, comfortable foster home until adopted. We do not do same day walk-in adoptions. We have a process that all potential adopters must complete. Approved adopters can meet the pets and finalize adoption after a trial period.
