Cheddar is a 4-year-old kitty with a ton of personality! He was a late bloomer, but is certainly making up for lost time. Already a young adult when rescued from the streets, he was pretty shy in his foster home for an extended period. In recent months, he has learned that these “humans” make pretty good buddies after all and has become much more social! We think this would be a wonderful time for Cheddar to find the forever home he truly deserves. A couple things you should know about Cheddar – he is VERY VOCAL and will never fail to let you know when he wants food, pets, etc. For someone who loves a chatty kitty, it’s quite charming, but if you prefer your critters on the quiet side, he may not be the right match! Also, Cheddar is a big ol’ foodie. He absolutely adores his food, especially grain-free food, and treats… more so than any other cat we’ve ever seen. He normally eats dry food, but he just goes WILD when a can or treat jar is opened! Having spent a few years in a low-key rescue home, we would anticipate that Cheddar will take some time and patience to settle into a new environment. You will surely be able to win him over with time, especially with KITTY TREATS in your arsenal! He loves pets and playtime, is not a huge fan of being picked up, but we’ve acclimated him to tolerate it for short spells. Cheddar would probably not fit into a household with small kids or dogs, but gets along beautifully with other cats. He could be a great choice if you need a companion for a kitty you already have, or would be interested in adopting a pair of kitties (either Java or Spock could be a good option, of similar age and temperament). Cheddar has been neutered, tested FIV/FELV negative, and is up to date on vaccinations. He has always done a great job of using the litterbox! There is an adoption donation to the Feral Cat Foundation (an all-volunteer organization, which helped get him out of a bad situation and provided all of his medical care) to help us continue our work with homeless cats.
