POSSIBLE BARN CAT OR SEMI-FERAL CAT EXPERIENCED OWNER REQUIRED. This boy loves his people but he needs a very experienced cat owner that has dealt with semi-feral cats and knows how to pace themselves or you will freak him out. He would be approved for a barn cat home with the appropriate managed adjustment period. Look at that hug! Haywood just wants to be loved, and he just needs a little patience to make you his forever person!!!! LONG STAY REDUCED ADOPTION FEE of $50! My name is Haywood but they call me Hay Hay!!! I came into foster scared and spicy, but now thanks to the love and care of the foster parents I am a little more social. I don’t run away anymore when my foster family comes to visit me. My human brother came to visit, and I let him hold me and even purred. I no longer run away when my people come to see me and feed me either. I will require a loving home that will be patient with me allowing me to be me. I have been introduced to little kids, but they have to be calm and not try to pick me up or play rough and even then they still kind of scare me. One way to be my friend is to have Churu treats. I will eat them off of your fingers. I am good with other kitties as long as they are kind and not too aggressive....I actually really, really like other kitties a lot if they are nice to me. I love to be petted, and my purr is loud. I am a very, very sweet young man but just real scared about this big world. I chase the string and tackle the other foster kittens in my foster home. I also really like the adult female cats in my foster home! One of them I regularly run to for attention, she licks my head. Our adoption events are too overwhelming for Haywood so apply to adopt Haywood to schedule a meet and greet with this boy or visit him at The Thrift Hound during regular business hours. He is very nervous when approached by new people while in his crate but ask staff to hold him and he immediately leans in for pets and enjoys it while you are holding him. He will need a patient adopter who will work with him to come out of his shell in a quiet environment.All cats are spayed/neutered, up to date on their vaccines, FELV/FIV tested, microchipped, given a few rounds of dewormer and started on monthly flea preventative. All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption.
