Sissy, Domestic Shorthair For Adoption In Cleveland, Georgia

Price:
$100
Location:
Cleveland, GA
Description:

Meet Sissy (and Missy)Help us welcome sisters Missy and Sissy. These beauties have lost everything. Their beloved mama has been permanently confined to a nursing home and forced to leave her babies behind. Neighbors took care of the sisters for awhile, but they lived alone in the house, uncertain and scared with their anchor, their mama, gone. We were glad to help out by taking them in. We’re grateful to those good folks trying to help them. Now we’re looking for their furever home where they can decompress and relearn love. The sisters are just two years old, in great health, and bonded. We promised the kind neighbors that we would adopt them together. Both are super sweet but Sissy has a little more confidence with her new situation. Once shown a bit of affection, both welcome it with purrs and snuggles. If you love tuxedo kitties Missy and Sissy are pawfect. A little shy at first, but snuggly and so sweet. Get your application in. If interested in Missy and Sissy, please submit an application online at: https://www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/page/cat-adoption-application Once an application is submitted online, you will receive an email saying your application has been successfully submitted. If you don’t receive this email within 24 hours, please check to make sure all application fields were completed or please call our shelter at 706-865-XXXX. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out-of-state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website: http://smithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals.Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are primarily owner relinquished and also accepted from local Animal Control. The facility usually operates at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.Adoptions and meet and greets are being scheduled by appointment only. Please complete an application and someone will be in touch just as soon as they can.Location: 4823 Helen Hwy., Sautee, GA 30571, Phone: 706-865-XXXXEmail: smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.netAdoption processOur adoption process begins with the submission of an application which is used to gather information and initiate conversation with the adopting person/family. The form also assists us with assessing the environment for suitability and safety in the placement of our residents. The application is the first step in the approval process, followed by veterinarian reference check, landlord approval confirmation if relevant and a home visit which may be done physically or virtually depending on the distance from the shelter. The approval process can be initiated either before or after a visit to the shelter to visit our residents. The application for dogs is located on our Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/smithgallhumanesociety/photos/a.984873858223547.107374XXXX.548822128495391/1271213192922944/?type=3&theater . For cat application, go to: https://www.facebook.com/smithgallhumanesociety/photos/a.984873858223547.107374XXXX.548822128495391/1271223856255211/?type=3&theater . The forms will be automated for online submission through a new website currently under construction with an anticipated launch date of no later than Nov 2016. Requirements for adoption are specific to the needs of the animal in addition to standard checks for safety issues. Adopters must come to the shelter once approved to take their adopted pet home. We do not ship nor do we transport. Submitting the form is neither a guarantee of adoption nor an entitlement to "first come, first served" in the selection process of safely and appropriately placing our residents. Decision to approve/not approve an adopter(s) is based on the needs of the dog, not the needs of the adopter. The application should be downloaded before printing. The completed form can be returned through Facebook Messages, emailing to: XXXX@windstream.net or delivery to the shelter. The process usually takes 1 to 3 business days but can be slowed by not completing all of the questions, difficulty in reaching people relevant to approval and scheduling a home visit. Our residents must be returned to us at any point in time if the adoption is no longer suitable/safe for the pet or circumstances have changed to where a new home is needed. A contract must be signed to complete the adoption process. Standard fees for dogs are $100 and for cats $85. Some fees are subsidized in various amounts as low as $25 (minimum allowed subsidized fee) for dogs and $20 (minimum allowed subsidized fee) for cats . All of our animals are spay/neutered, have age appropriate vaccines and are free of internal parasites. Dogs are tested for heart worms and put on monthly prevention. Cats are tested for FIV/FeLV.Shelter locationOur Adoption Center is located at 4823 Helen Hwy (75N), Sautee GA 30571. We are 4 miles south of the alpine town of Helen in the NE GA mountains.
