Helen Keller is the nicest, sweetest kitty you will ever meet. She is very gentle and precious. However, Helen Keller has two disabilities- she is completely blind and she is in the beginning stages of Kidney Disease. We’ve had Helen for over a month and she knows her foster room very well. She has never tried to climb on anything even though there is a chair and bed in her room- she stays to the floor. She knows where her litter box is, her food, water and of course her heated bed! On sunny days she finds the rays of sun shine and basks in the light! Helen Keller can be startled easily. We’ve learned to warn her of pets by putting out hand right by her whiskers so she can feel us before we start petting her. She loves cheek scratches and rubbing her face on anything she can find! Helen Keller would do best in a home where she only has to master a few spaces. She has not been very curious and sticks to what she knows. It would probably be best to be a single pet as she will run into things. In my experience, other cats do not look at it fondly if another cat runs into them- but there could be a perfect pet out there that could put up with her bumps. Helen Keller is the sweetest most precious kitty you’ve ever met and is looking for a purfect home to retire in! ---All of our cats/kittens are spayed or neutered, tested for FeLV/FIV, vaccinated against Distemper, and treated for fleas and other parasites. Our shelter is open by appointment only. Applications must be submitted and approved before appointments will be set.
