HOW I CAME TO PGSPCA My mom brought me and my brothers to a place that had all sorts of plants and cozy spots, but also a lot of people around. The people at the garden center made sure that we had plenty to eat and fresh water to drink until another nice lady took us all inside while we look for our furever homes! DREAM HOME I need to be in a home with other pets and lots of interaction with people. I’d probably do really well with kids who are respectful and know how to be around kitties. NOTE: We are an all volunteer group and do not operate a shelter. All of our animals are in foster homes. We are unable to place our animals outside of the Baltimore/DC area.Adoption processAll of our adoptions begin with a visit to one of our adoption events. The adoption coordinator and/or the pet's foster parent will review the applications received. The applicant (if any) whose responses best fit the needs of the particular pet will generally be contacted within a week to schedule a home visit. A vet check and personal reference is also required prior to visiting your home. Our non-refundable adoption fee is $250 for dogs, $85 for kittens ($150 for a pair of kittens), and $75 for an adult cat. The fee covers spay/neuter, core vaccines (distemper and rabies), deworming, microchipping, and the general care of the animals. Per our contract, if you cannot keep your adopted pet for any reason, it must be returned to our program. We will try to find it a new home.Shelter locationWe don't have a central shelter facility, so the best place to meet our adoptable cats and dogs is at our adoption shows! If you have previously filled out an application, please bring it with you to the show! Please e-mail with any questions. We cannot guarantee that an animal you want to meet will be at the show.
