Hi, my name is Button, and I am cute as a button! I used to live outdoors before my foster family invited me and my kittens to live with them until we found our fur-ever family. I may be a little nervous and seem shy at first but once I am comfortable, I am so sweet and playful. My favorite toys are soft balls and I love naps on a comfy sofa. I also spend lots of time playing with my kittens and window watching. My dream family includes one of my kittens, but I am also good with gentle kids. My dream family has the patience to get to know me and lots of love and affection to give. I don’t like being picked up, but I’ll happily join you on the couch or when you’re lying in bed for a petting and snuggling session! All of our animals are in foster homes. We are unable to place our animals outside of the Baltimore/DC area.Adoption processAll of our adoptions begin with a visit to one of our adoption events. The adoption coordinator and/or the pet's foster parent will review the applications received. The applicant (if any) whose responses best fit the needs of the particular pet will generally be contacted within a week to schedule a home visit. A vet check and personal reference is also required prior to visiting your home. Our non-refundable adoption fee is $250 for dogs, $85 for kittens ($150 for a pair of kittens), and $75 for an adult cat. The fee covers spay/neuter, core vaccines (distemper and rabies), deworming, microchipping, and the general care of the animals. Per our contract, if you cannot keep your adopted pet for any reason, it must be returned to our program. We will try to find it a new home.Shelter locationWe don't have a central shelter facility, so the best place to meet our adoptable cats and dogs is at our adoption shows!
