Hi, Iandamp;#39;m Penny! Coming to the shelter was a little bit scary, but now that I am getting settled, Iandamp;#39;m making new friends. Iandamp;#39;m in a big, sunny playroom with several other cats, which is really nice. There are places where I can retreat to when things get busy and overwhelming, but when it is quiet I like to come out and play and see what person has come to spend time with us. My idea of the perfect home would be a quiet home with someone who gets me, willing to be patient and give me the time I need to feel comfortable. If there is another cat there who would like to be friends, that would be just fine, we could snuggle and nap together. If you are looking for a quiet companion to keep you company, please come and see about me!Adoption processHours: Monday - Tuesday (by appointment only) | 11 am - 6 pmWednesday - Friday | 12 pm - 7 pmSaturday - Sunday | 11am - 7pm Please note that we operate by first come, first serve along with adoption approval. Wait times may vary depending on the time of week and day. We are reserving Mondays and Tuesdays for appointments for members of the public who are immunocompromised or are still uncomfortable being in large crowds due to COVID-19. Adoption Requirements:- Adopter must be 18 years of age or older.- Adopters must complete a survey and present photo identification to meet any of our animals.- For the safety and health of our animals, we do not ship pets.- Pet adoption fees range from $60 to $350. Our adoption fees help to offset the cost of evaluation, housing, feeding and medical care for the thousands of animals needing our help. We do our best to keep our adoption prices reasonable while generating income to support our goal of caring for animals available for adoption until we can place them in a loving home. The adoption fee for each animal varies and is dependent on many factors including: age, size, behavior, medical condition, and public demand.Shelter locationWe are open for adoptions, no appointment necessary, Wednesdays through Sundays from 12-7PM. On Monday and Tuesday, we are available for adoptions by appointment only. -We recommend (and in some cases require) that all members of the household meet the pet prior to adoption. -Great Plains SPCA runs background checks on adopters and adults in the home over 18.-Great Plains SPCA requires all visitors to wear masks that cover the nose and mouth at all times while inside our buildings.
