Meet Gandalf! Poor Gandalf has been with us for some time. When he first came to us he was incredibly timid and scared of people. He would run away and hide, you couldn't get close enough to pet him, he would hiss, he just didn't want anything to do with us. But oh boy, has be made a lot of progress over these past few years. Gandalf still has what we like to refer to as a "spicy" personality. So if you're looking for a cat with a unique personality and a lot of character he is perfect for you. We refer to him as "spicy" because he has the type of personality that gets overstimulated easily. So when you're petting him and giving him the attention which he originally wanted and accepted, he quickly decides that he no longer wants your attention and he often expresses that with a swat of the paw or even a bite. But if you learn his signals you can easily tell when he's had enough and that's when you would step away and just let him have his alone time. Because of his "spicy" personality we don't recommend Gandalf to be adopted into a family with young children. He does get along pretty well with all of the cats at the shelter but we do think he would really thrive in a home where he was the only cat. Gandalf, with his quirky personality would be a kitty you might find endearing. We love him just as he is and if given the chance we know you would too. Please note age is approximate.
